Gurudwara Sri Akal Takhat Sahib, Amritsar
Gurudwara Sri Akal Takht Sahib is situated in the Distt City Amritsar. It is situated on the front side of Gurudwara Sri Harmandir Sahib. The Takhat Sri Darbar Sahib Akal Takhat means The Seat (Throne) of the Timeless One or Seat (Throne) of God. Akal Takht Sahib is located in the Golden Templen complex in Amritsar, Punjab. The Akal Takht Sahib was initially built by the sixth Guru of Sikhs, Guru HarGobind Sahib ji as a symbol for political sovereignty of Sikhs. It stood as symbol of political and military resistance against the Mughal Empire in the 17th and 18th century. Guru Sahib used to hold a Darbar for listening and solving the problem of his followers. This is First of the five Takht SahibS of sikh religion.
