Gurudwara Sri Janam Asthan Bhai Jetha Ji, Sidhwan

Gurudwara Sri Janam Asthan Bhai Jetha Ji is situated in the Village Sidhwan, teh Patti, district Tarn Taran Sahib. Bhai Jetha had honor of serving Sri Guru Ram Das ji, Sri Guru Arjan Dev ji and Sri Guru HarGobind Sahib ji. Bhai Jetha ji took part in the excavation of the sacred pool at Amritsar (Sri Harimandir Sahib) and the construction of the Harimandir Sahib. He was one of the five sikhs who accompanied Sri Guru Arjan Dev ji on his last journey to lahore where Guru Sahib met a martyr’s death in 1606. He was accompanied by four sikhs, Bhai Bidhi chand, Bhai langah, Bhai paira and Bhai Pirana. These sikhs were witness to the events leading to the Guru Sahib’s martyrdom. They cremated Guru Sahib’s body and returned to Amritsar. And narated to Sri Guru HarGobind Sahib ji and the sikhs what had happened in lahore. Bhai jetha and the other four received training in the fighting skills and were appointed by Sri Guru HarGobind Sahib ji to lead a troop of one hundred horsemen each. He accompanied the Guru Sahib to Delhi and was in attendance upon him during his detention in the fort of gwalior. When Guru shaib refused to eat the food provided by the fort authorities Bhai jetha ji used to work in gwalior and bring food for Guru Sahib from his earnings. He took part in battles against the imperial troops, and fell fighting at mehraj (Bhatinda)on 16 december 1634.
