Gurudwara Shatranj Sahib – Bassian
This Gurdwara is situated at a distance of 13 Km from town Raikot and 20 Km from Jagraon Railway Station on Jagraon-Raikot Road in Village Bassian.
The Tenth Sikh Guru, Shri Guru Gobind Singh Ji visited this place in 1705, while coming from Machhiwara – Alamgir – Raikot – Lamma. Guru Ji played Shatranj (Chess) with Rai Kalle, the Pathan chief of town Raikot at this place, hence the name of the Gurdwara. Guru Ji went towards Mukatsar City from here.
