Gurudwara Bhai Mani Singh at Rawalpindi

This sacred Darbar is located in the Sarrafa Bazaar of Rawalpindi. The Shrine, constructed in memory of Bhai Mani Singh, is a double-story building. The structure is both beautiful and strong. The Langar Khana and residential rooms are located beside the Prakash Aasthan. A government school is currently functioning within the building.

Bhai Mani Singh, a close companion of Guru Gobind Singh, the tenth and last Guru of the Sikhs, was born in 1644 in Multan and martyred in 1738 in Lahore. A great scholar and warrior, he served many Gurus and dedicated his life to the Sikh community. During the decline of the Mughal Empire, he was caught in political turmoil and executed by the governor of Lahore, Zakaria Khan, in 1738.

Sikhs greatly revere Bhai Mani Singh for his services and martyrdom. This large Gurdwara, likely built in his memory in the early twentieth century, now houses dozens of families who seldom allow visitors. Overall, the building is in a state of disrepair. It is situated at the junction of Jamia Masjid Road and Hamilton Road.
