The Sikh Community of Western Victoria Inc (SCWV) was established in 1999 and represents the Sangat of the Western and South Western suburbs of Melbourne. In the early days, we held our congregations in the Community Halls but in 2003, we hired a rental premises at Werribee to host the holy Guru Granth Sahib, which marked the establishment of Werribee Gurudwara Sahib.
Since day one the Sangat had been aspiring and dreaming to acquire a permanent place to build new Gurudwara Sahib. On 15th of April 2008 this dream was relalised, when the SCWV purchased a 2.5 acre property on 560 Davis Road (Cnr Dohertys Rd), Tarneit for the establishment of new Gurudwara Sahib. The new premises of Werribee Gurudwara Sahib was opened on 20th September 2008 with the Prakash of holy Guru Granth Sahib.
