Gurdwara Patshahi Nauwin, Barna

This place has its relevancy due to Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur ji visit to this place. Kar Sewa of Gurdwara and Langar hall at this place was started in year 2002 by Baba Jagtar Singh ji.

While Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji was travelling towards Delhi, Guru Ji stopped here to rest.

There was an old lady from a jatt family that was a follower of Guru Tegh Bahadur in the village.

The woman had woven a precious dushala for Guru Tegh Bahadur and kept it in a trunk. The woman used to think that if her Guru was true he would arrive and collect his gift in person.

Understanding her wish Guru Tegh Bahadur arrived in horseback. The woman was not sure whether this was her Guru so she offered a normal dushala to Guru Ji.

However, Guru Tegh Bahadur asked for the dushala that was laying in her third trunk wrapped in clothes.

The woman knew that Guru Tegh Bahadur was the true Guru and gave him her precious hand woven dushala. Later, the woman had a Thada constructed over the place where Guru Tegh Bahadur was standing.

After some time a droga from the darbar of the Raja of Kaithal came here to trade horses. He asked the villagers about the significance of the Thada Sahib. When the villagers told him the history behind the Thada Sahib he thought a Gurdwara should be constructed.

After discussing the plan with the villagers, the man donated all of his money to the village. The villagers also made contributions and provided labour to build a beautiful Gurdwara.
