Gurudwara Bhai Jaita ji is situated in the city of Sri Anandpur Sahib in Ropar district. When Sri Guru teg Bahadur ji was beheaded on 11 nov 1675 in Delhi, no one dared to pick Guru Sahibs sacred head from the chandani chowk. Later a swear storm swept through the city, and under the cover of dark blanket Bhai Jaita ji managed to escape with Guru Sahibs sacred head. Bhai Sahib ji carried it to Sri Anandpur Sahib to Sri Guru Gobind rai ji (Guru Gobind Singh ji) and Bhai lakhi shah cremated Guru Sahibs body by setting his house on fire as public funeral would have been dangerous. On novemeber 16 1675 pyre of sandalwood was setted up. Head of Sri Guru teg Bahadur ji was cremated by Sri Guru Gobind rai ji(Guru Gobind Singh ji) and then Sri Guru Gobind Singh ji said for Bhai Jaita ji "rangreta Guru ka beta" and Bhai Jaita ji and became Sri Guru Gobind Singh ji's sikh and was named Bhai jiwan Singh ji.
