Gurudwara Guru Nanak Devji was set up under the leadership of Sqn Ldr Harvinder Singh Sawhney. When he was posted to Gandhinagar in 1978, weekly Darbar was held in the one room house of a Devout airforce sikh, who used to moove all his belongings out on sunday, to hold Guru darbar. Sardar Sawhneyji decided that this should not be the state of affairs in the capital of Gujarat and he took up the task of raising funds to buy land and construct a Gurudwara. Today it is a fine building with a very active and enthusiastic community.
