The Ninth Sikh Guru, Shri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji visited this place during his tour of Malwa region. A person named Muglu used to reside in this Village. He was a devotee of Sixth Sikh Guru, Shri Guru Hargobind Sahib Ji. He fought very bravely in the battle of Mehraj in 1634. Guru Ji was very pleased and asked him his wish. Bhai Muglu said that he wants to have a glimpse of Guru Ji , before he breaths his last. Guru Ji said that this would not be possible because he would outlive him, but he might still see the Guru before he died. Guru Hargobind Sahib Ji left for his heavenly abode in 1644. The Seventh Sikh Guru, Shri Guru Har Rai Ji and Eighth Sikh Guru, Shri Guru Harikishan Ji left for their heavenly abode in 1661 and 1664 respectively. Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji was installed as Ninth Guru in 1664.
During his journey of Malwa region, Guru Tegh Bahadur ji reached Village Bhikhi. When Guru Ji sat in meditation, he saw that Bhai Muglu lay on his death bed and desired to have a glimpse of Guru Ji. The Village Gandhuan was 20 Km away. Guru Ji reached Village Gandhuan via Villages Dhaleo and Kanakwal on his horse and entered into the house of Muglu Ji. When Bhai Muglu had glimpse of Guru Ji , his heart filled with joy and he passed away peacefully. Guru Ji performed the rites of cremation of Muglu Ji and then returned to Bhikhi.
Gurdwara Sahib is dedicated to the memory of Guru Tegh Bahadur Jis visit in the course of his travels in these parts of Punjab. When Guruji was camping at Bhikhi, he came to know about an old Sikh, Bhai Mugluji of Gandhuan, who had received instruction from Guru HarGobind Ji. Bhai Muglu Ji had shown his prowess in the battle of Mehraj in the year 1634 A.D. Guru HarGobind Ji pleased with his Devotion and velour had invited him to ask for a boon. Bhai Muglu Ji wished that before he breathed his last he should be able to have a glimpse of Guruji. Guruji told him that this would not be possible, as he would outlive him, however he might still see the Guru. After many years Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji was in that area. It is said that Guruji suddenly went into meditation and saw Bhai Mugluji. At that time Bhai Muglu Ji lay on his deathbed and desired to see Guruji. Riding through Dhaleo and Kanakwal, Guruji at once reached the house of Mugluji at Village Gandhuan. Bhai Mugluji who lay gasping for breath was overwhelmed to see Guruji .He passed away peacefully in Gurujis presence. Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji then performed the rites of cremation before returning to Bhikhi. The Villagers to commemorate this historic event of Muglu Jis Devotion and Gurujis response, raised a memorial on the site where Gurdwara Sahib Patshahi Nauvin now stands. The Gurdwara owns 44 acres of land and is administered by the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbhandak Committee through a local management committee. The most important annual event is the martyrdom anniversary of Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji and Guru Arjan Dev Ji.
