Gurudwara Sri Smadh Baba Budha ji Sahib, Ramdas is situated in the Village Ramdas district Amritsar. During missionary journeys, in samat 1575 bikrami 1518 Sri Guru Nanak Dev ji came and sat under a tree of tahli(fig tree), near town ramDas. He met a child there. When Guru Sahib heard a small child talking on vairag(sepration or detatchment) and bibek(prudent) then Guru Nanak Dev ji said that "you are still a kid and you talk like an wise man. You are not a kid but an oldster(wise man)"". Guru Sahib blessed him and honour him as wise man. This tahli tree is present inside Gurudwara Sahib. In 1766, the pyre of Baba buddha ji was set up by Sri Guru HarGobind ji at the place where Guru Granth Sahib ji is parkashit today, acc to sikh tradition, arDas was done and Bhai bhana, younger son of Baba buddha ji lit the pyre. Near there is a platform called tharha Sahib where Sri Guru har Gobind ji recited kirtan sohila. At the time of death, Baba buddha ji's age was 125 years 11 month and 11 days. At the time of cremation ceremony, Sri Guru har Gobind ji, Bhai Bidhi chand, Bhai jetha Singh and sangat were present there.
