This Gurdwara is situated at a distance of 11 Km West of Chamkaur Sahib (in District Rupnagar) on Ludhiana-Hambran Road in Village Chuharpur near town Machhiwara.

The Tenth Sikh Guru, Shri Guru Gobind Singh Ji left the Fortress of Chamkaur Sahib and reached Village Chuharpur. He sat under a tree to relax. At that place Gurdwara Shri Jhar Sahib is situated. From here Guru Ji moved to the place where Gurdwara Kanga Sahib is situated and then to the jungles (Forests) of Machhiwara.
