This Gurdwara is situated at a distance of 12 Km West of Ludhiana City in Village Iyali Kalan.
The Sixth Sikh Guru, Shri Guru Hargobind Sahib Ji visited this place in 1634 after winning the battle of Mehraj (in District Bathinda), while on his way to Kanarpur.
Gurdwara Sri Thada Sahib Ayali Kalan is situated in the Ayali Kalan village near Ludhiana.
Sri Guru Hargobind Sahib Ji came here twice. Firstly, Guru Hargobind came here while returning from Nanakmatta Sahib where Guru Sahib had gone to help Baba Almast Ji.
Guru Hargobind arrived from Haridwar, Saharanpur, Jagadhari and Dugri (Gurdwara Sri Damdama Sahib).
From here Guru Hargobind travelled towards Daroli Bhai Ki where Guru Sahib's family was at the house of Bhai Sai Das Ji.
Guru Hargobind's came here again after the 1631 Battle of Gurusar. Guru Hargobind travelled via Kangar, Takhtupura, Chakar, Hathur, Pakhowal, Dhalian, Gujjarwal and then Ayali Kalan.
Bhai Bidi Chand Ji and other Singhs made a earth Thada Sahib for Guru Hargobind, and hence the name of Gurdwara here.
From here Guru Hargobind went towards Malakpur Bet and Birmi where Guru Sahib arranged for boats to cross the Sutlej and then travelled to Phillaur, Mao Sahib and then Kartarpur.
