When Guru Ji reached the house of Phagu Chaudhry, he came to know that Guru Ji has come after fighting against the Mughals, he was frightened. Phagu did not serve Guru Ji. Guru Ji understood that he was frightened. Guru Ji said," Phagu Da Wara, Bahron Mitha Andron Khara". Thereafter, Guru Ji reached at this place where Gurdwara Sukhchainana Sahib is situated. At that time a forest existed here. Guru Ji took rest under a Beri (Ziziphus Mamtiana) tree.
Gurdwara Sri Sukhchain Sahib is situated on the outskirts of Phagwara city.
After winning the battle at Kartarpur and Plahi, Sri Guru Hargobind Sahib Ji came to Phagwara (at the site of Gurdwara Sri Choura Khooh Sahib) to meet a man called Phagu who used to serve Guru Ji.
When Phagu heard that Sri Guru Hargobind Sahib Ji had come after a battle with the mughals he became scared and thought the mughals might be following Guru Ji.
Phagu, fearing his life, refused to serve Guru Ji.
Guru Hargobind Sahib Ji said, "Phagu da wada, bahron mitha, andro khara". When roughly translates as Phagu was sweet on the outside but sour on the inside'.
From the site Gurdwara Sri Choura Khooh Sahib, Guru Hargobind travelled to where Gurdwara Sri Sukhchain Sahib is situated and rested under tree.
