This Gurdwara is situated at a distance of 18 Km East of town Jaito (in District Faridkot) in Village Maluka.

The Tenth Sikh Guru, Shri Guru Gobind Singh Ji visited this place, while on his way from Mukatsar City to town Talwandi Sabo. Guru Ji stayed at this place for sometime. A Sadhu of 'Divana Order' came to meet Guru Ji very early in the Morning, when Guru Ji was in meditation. A Sikh on duty asked him to stop, but he forced his entry into the tent. That Sadhu got injured in the scuffle, as the Sikh had taken out the sword. The Sadhu politely requested to let him in. As he was fatally wounded, Guru Ji gave him the permission to come inside. Guru Ji blessed him, thereafter, the Sadhu breathed his last and attained salvation.

Gurdwara Sri Taruana Sahib is situated just outside Maluka, Bathinda district.

Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji stopped outside Maluka while travelling towards Muktsar Sahib. Guru Sahib stayed here for the night at 'Maluke da tobha' where tents were pitched.

In the morning the local chief, Malik Diwana (who had his face covered) came here for Guru Sahib's darshan. The Singhs in attendance stopped Diwana from immediately meeting Guru Gobind Singh and asked him to wait.

However, Diwana tried to force his way into the Guru's tent. Bhai Bhagu Singh attacked Diwana with a sword and Diwana fell unconscious.

After a while he awoke, Diwana was about to pass away and asked to see Guru Gobind Singh. Guru Gobind Singh came outside the tent and Diwana bowed in front of Guru Sahib.

Guru Gobind Singh asked Diwana if he wanted to be healed so he could continue to live. Diwana asked to be liberated and set free so he could re-join with God.

Guru Gobind Singh put his hand on Diwanas head and blessed him before passed away. Afterwards, the site and Gurdwara Sahib became known as Gurdwara Sri Taruana Sahib.
