Gurudwara Tharhaa Sahib Patshahi Chevin – Singhpura
Gurdwara Chevin Patshahi Thara Sahib - Singhpura is a Village near Baramula which Guru HarGobind visited during his stay at the latter place. The Shrine commemorating the Guru's visit is called Gurdwara Chevin Patshahi Thara Sahib. Thara means a platform of mud or masonry. At first only a Thara Sahib existed here. The present square domed building surrounded by a verandah was built during the 1930s by the Sikh savant Bhai Vir Singh.
Gurudwara Sri Thara Sahib Patshahi Chevin Sahib is situated in the Village Singhpura, Distt Baramulla, After fulfilling the wish of Mai Bhag Bhari at Srinagar, Guru Sahib came here. A old Muslim Saint Bahlor Shah lived here. He served Guru Sahib with great Devotion He also requested Guru Sahib that there was shortage of water in near by areas, as this place is situated on the hill top. Guru Sahib touched the ground with his Barcha and told that here is well of sweet water. You people can use it as much as you want. Even today people use this water as per there requirement. From here Guru Sahib went towards Baramulla. After Guru Sahib's visit people got a Tharra constructed where Guru Sahib sat, hence this place was named as Thada Sahib.
There is a story which enhances the glory of the Sikh guru, Guru Hargobind Singh Ji, and also lends an aura of mystifying devotion to this place. It is said that when Guru Hargobind Singh Ji came to this place, he was welcomed very warmly by a Muslim saint by the name of Bahlor Shah, who treated the guru with utmost reverence. However, Bahlor Shah was also shrouded in misery, the reason of which he confided in the Guru. Bahlor Shah was distressed with the shortage of water in those areas which was the cause of hardships of many residents were subjected to. Upon knowing the concern, Guru Hargobind Sing Ji, accompanied by Bahlor Shah, went on a walk towards the hill. At a certain point, Guru Hargobind Sing Ji took out his "Barcha", and pointed it to a particular spot on the ground and claimed that there was water underneath. To honor the Guru's claim, a well was dug, and surprisingly enough, there was a stream of clear sweet water in abundance. Such was the power of Guru Hargobind Singh Ji.
That well is still used by many people in and around the village and it fulfils their need of water and eases their hardships.
